Post Production Report for Ident 1: Christmas

1. Post Production Process
In Post Production, I edited my original footage of my idents on Final Cut Pro. I then uploaded the draft and gained audience feedback. From the audience feedback, I was able to identify improvements for my idents such as adding music and a voiceover. I then completed my final idents and exported them as a Master File and uploaded them to YouTube.

2. Post Production Sound
I searched for copyright free festive Christmas music on YouTube to match my Christmas food themed ident. Once I found one that matched my ident, I converted it to an mp3 file using a YouTube converter website. Then I imported it into my project on Final Cut Pro. I also added a voiceover by recording on Garage band with a USB Microphone. This was added to the end of the ident as a continuity announcement where the audience would be able to identify what programme would be coming up next on food network.

3. Post Production Editing
I used several editing techniques to improve the quality of my ident.
Some of the shots that I took on the camera were dark. So I used the colour board on final cut to colour correct the footage and make the Christmas food look more tasty and attractive.
To transition from one shot to the next, I used the dissolve transition on the bottom right corner of final cut. This allowed the ident to flow naturally. This would also make it look less obvious that editing has been done.
To add the Food network logo at the end of the ident, I placed the logo on Adobe Photoshop and changed the background to green. I then saved it and imported it onto Final Cut Pro where I used the Keying effect to hide the green background. This meant that when the food network logo appeared on the ident, you would still be able to see the background of the food.
